I have never been able to find Price Of Darkness. I've been wanting to see it for a really long time now. Have you ever seen In the Mouth of Madness? I watched it once, but I was a little out of it that night and I never really payed attention until the end where I didn't understand anything. :dunno:

In The Mouth Of Madness is very good too, very unusual. It's a sign of what a great filmmaker he once was that those films have almost been forgotten.

I think Prince Of Darkness was fairly recently rereleased on DVD so it should be easy to get hold of on eBay or Amazon.

"I have a message for you. You're not going to like it ... ... Pray For Death."

Yes! One of the more disturbing parts along with the part where the woman reaches into the mirror and shrieks, "FAAAATHER!" It's just an awesome film.

for me it was Hostel. mainly because i didn't know what it was going to be about, i just went with some friends. i was actually sort of thinking it was going to be a gratuitous tits and ass comedy. boy was i wrong.

The original certainly had its share of disturbing moments.

Most of those Asian films that have recieved remakes are pretty good. I like the original Shutter myself.

Tale of Two Sisters is another one. & the finale of Audition. . .

I wasn't very disturbed or frightened by the end of Audition, sadly. I heard so much about it, which is probably what kept me from being freaked out. When the scene actually came on I was more intrigued than disturbed. Visitor Q is Miike's most disturbing film, in my opinion.

A Tale Of Two Sisters is a brilliant film, I absolutely love it. I think to a certain extent a lot of these Japanese / Korean films have similar themes but then you get ones like that which are quite a bit different, or something like Marebito which is just genuinely unusual and you realise that the reason Hollywood remakes these is because they would never dare to commission such original and unique concepts in their own films.

I don't normally get disturbed by movies though when I saw the Exorcist after I had my first daughter it actually freaked me out. Though when I was younger it never did. Maybe it was just hormones as I went and saw it in theaters not long after she was born when it was re-released. I've watched it again since and it doesn't bother me now.

I was a youngster when I saw the previews for Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and they pretty much had me terrified to walk around the small town I lived in at the time during late night hours. Then I watched it... yep, did the trick for me.

Another film when I was a very young child was Alice_Sweet_Alice. I don't really recall it and the reason I mention it is I have been thinking of looking for it to see if it was actually scary or not. I was I think 4 years old when I had seen it. (I wasn't supposed to be up)

A few others would include:

- The Exorcist
- The Devil's Advocate (I was tripped out when I watched it, apologies for sayin' but true)
- Cannibal Holocaust
- Another film I'm still trying to find which I never learned the title of.... whatever.
- more that aren't coming to me just now.
... peace.

Next time you get pregnant you should watch Rosemary's Baby. It's quite a thrill.
